When a key member of her crew is captured, the leader of an uber-cool female biker gang recruits a down-on-his-luck kart racer. Together they must carry out a series of audacious heists to appease their criminal overlords.

the pitch

‘Drive’ meets ‘True Romance’ meets ‘Vice Magazine’

An action thriller / love story, set in fashionably edgy East London (that could play out in a similar Western city). Exploring romance under the most intense circumstances, finding a direction in life, hipster culture, and the fallout of taking the ‘easy’ route to riches. High speed urban motorcycle chases, cool female characters, and an ‘Italian Job’ style make or break heist on karts in an airport.

“A modern-day Bonnie and Clyde.”

industry feedback

We really enjoyed this script! It’s a great hook and a fun read; the gritty small town is a wonderful setting for its zany characters (Lore and Rich in particular are a playful romantic duo), and we’re sure that our ensemble’s affinity for thrill seeking vehicles will make for a fast-paced, propulsive tone.
— Searchlight Pictures - passed at script stage, but the door is ajar...
It’s a really enjoyable read and there is definitely a fun idea here! The tone works really well – and I enjoyed the fact that it is a little tongue in cheek and has some levity but there are also some strong set pieces and you use London in a way that I don’t think we’ve captured on film yet. The Barbican set piece is great and most importantly you depict the city in a way that feels contemporary and visceral. I really enjoyed Lore and Rich as a sort of modern day Bonnie and Clyde. I think there is a commercial idea for a feature here.

Lore

The co-founder of The Hackney Vampires, an uber-cool female motorcycle collective. She's cool, fiercely independent and 100% focused on her goal of saving enough money to travel the world on her motorcycle - ultimately in search of a new life. To make this dream a reality she's taken to robbing jewellery stores on motorcycles as a member of a criminal gang. When the wheels come flying off, brutal reality sets in as things spiral out of control, leaving her to question her path and search for an escape route.

Rich

A down-on-his-luck kart racer who works as a baggage handler at the airport to make ends meet… barely. He’s just broken out of a negative relationship and finds himself back on the scene in edgy East London with his colourful mates. Other than these fleeting friends, Rich is very much alone in the world and he’s coming to terms with the fact his racing dream is more fantasy, and perhaps it’s time for plan B… only, there is no plan B, until that is, Lore comes into his life.
